Whitewater paddling is pleasant on Merrimack River, and you'll come across a picturesque lake called Duck Pond. Really great skiing awaits you at Pats Peak. Lots of people from Manchester-Nashua come to Souhegan River Reservoir,
and don't leave Souhegan River Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Old Country Road. Baboosic Brook is a stream that you may encounter during your stay; a pretty lake like Horseshoe Pond is a brilliant place to explore.
You can never get enough of the good skiing at McIntyre, and why not camp at Tynsborough Campground while you're here at Souhegan River Reservoir. So much fun stuff to do here at Souhegan River Reservoir, too brilliant to be
true. Why not stop at Merrimack Village Dam if you're here; a round of golf at nearby Passaconaway Country Club is a great way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Tyngsboro Campground is a tremendous local campground, and
after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Nashua is a perfect site to spend a night or two. Souhegan River Reservoir sees pretty high levels of rain; November is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is September.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
