A visit to Silver Lake is always a good idea. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Silver Lake. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are mostly in the 20's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Silver Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. The White Mountains scenery is always beautiful. A day on the slopes of Tenney Mountain is just what you need.

If you're here at Silver Lake and you like golf, you can stop at Lake View Golf Club. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Silver Lake has to offer, you can camp at Silver Lake Park Campground. But wait, there's more to do near Silver Lake. that you need to camp here for a while, The Acord Campground is a good place for that; get your pulse rate up on the wonderful whitewater of Winnipesaukee River.
Lake Winnisquam is a nearby lake that you could check out; why not
head up to Gunstock and strap some skis to your feet. The amount of rain that falls at Silver Lake is close to the national average; during May this area sees the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. Not enough hours in
a day to enjoy the White Mountains. Near Silver Lake you stumble on the Rattlesnake Trail which is a good hiking trail, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites TILTON is a good site to spend a night or two.
All the outdoors fun stuff in the White Mountains will keep you coming back many times. The Prospect Trail is a perfect hiking trail near Silver Lake, and if you need a place to stay Tilton/Lake Winnipesaukee Super 8 Motel is a fine choice. Lochmere Dam is not far at all from Silver Lake, and there are plenty of people from Laconia here.
