Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little Suncook, and Angle Pond Grove is a great local campground. If you need       a location to stay Red Roof Inn Salem is a pleasant choice, and the skiing at McIntyre is magnificent. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Concord River, and Wash Pond Dam has great water scenery. All the outdoors enjoyable things near Showell Pond will keep you coming back repeatedly. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Showell Pond; Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is a great local trail. Summertime highs at Showell Pond commonly tend to be in                  the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
