Jigger Johnson Campground 1
 | 17 miles away It was really fun being there. Just relax and having a good time.......untains. The tent site we chose was cozy, comfortable and clean, and best of all, the place had showers: individual sheds w/spacious shower rooms, separate tiled dressing rooms with hooks and a chair to keep clothes dry. At six minutes for $2.00, water was hot, w/nice pressure. Altogether, as satisfying an experience as possible for two citified ladies and more than adequate for a dad who bicycles to work, backpacks in the wilderness & does not consider car camping roughing it. He only looks for flush toilets (which this spot also has, very clean, too) and other amenities when we are along. To him, facilities here luxurious. It was more peaceful than Dollycopp (sp) which is much larger & often hosts (albeit unintentionally) rowdy young weekenders who build bonfires and yell all night, warbling Rocky Mountain High offkey & then sleep all morning, when others get up to start hiking. I suspect they plan to climb Mt. Washington in their SUV's. Anyway, the atmosphere at JJ was much more family-oriented, and tents-only sites just what we were looking for. Does anyone know who the origin of ... |
