    Shadow Pool is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the White Mountains will keep you coming back persistently. If you came for an overnight stay White Birches Mountain Camping Park is a magnificent place to camp, and nearby you'll hit upon a wooded area called Leadmine State Forest. From a precipitation point of view Shadow Pool is a quite normal  
   place; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February.
You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area close to Shadow Pool has to offer. Why not camp at Wild River Campground while you're here at Shadow Pool, and after a long day outdoors Royalty Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. Do take a look at Shelburne Dam since you're here at Shadow Pool, and getting to Josh Brook from Shadow Pool
 
               is trouble-free. And that's not all you can do here at Shadow Pool. The slopes of Black Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay A Top Notch Inn is a brilliant choice, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Peabody Brook Trail. Shadow Pool is not the only spot close by, Reflection Pond is a close by lake, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Sinclair Trail. While you're here at Shadow Pool you can take a hike along the Rattle River Trail, and everybody nearby loves skiing at Wildcat.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the White Mountains. At Shadow Pool you can distinguish Mount Evans; get covered with water paddling on Wild River. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something near Shadow Pool? Androscoggin River Reservoir is close by; paddling on Peabody River is so much fun. The warmest time of the year at Shadow Pool comes with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Shadow Pool.

Beautiful trail, mostly easy grades. Lots of running water and a few hidden waterfalls along parts of the trail. You hear no traffic, almost no jets, just the sound of wild land around you. There is a nice campsite in a hemlock grove at the height of land, at the intersection of the Kenduskeag Trail. An easy half-day walk between the Shelburne gate (Connor Brook) and the Wild River Camp Ground in Bean's Purchase....

I spent most of my summers growing up at cedar pond.We had our camp there and I remember the penny candy at the red and white striped store and the dog inky. There was also a dog named cedar that would visit all the camps in search of food. The lake would be freezing even in August and when we had to start a fire in the furnace the only wood we had to burn was obviously cedar and the smell was wonderful.
