Go to Sebbins Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Bedford is a great place to spend a night or two, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Piscataquog River. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Woodbury Estate Pond since you're here at Sebbins Pond; it's nearby; camping at Twin Oaks Campground is always a tremendous experience. Whohoo, so much entertaining stuff in one place! Sebbins Pond is unbeatable!

| | Really splendid skiing awaits you at McIntyre, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Catamount Trail. If you're here at Sebbins Pond, you could explore Bowman Brook, and at Sebbins Pond you always meet someone from Manchester-Nashua. Sebbins Pond is a pretty wet place typically with a lot of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is January. Estate Pond Dam is a scenic location, certainly worth visiting. A splendid site to camp here at Sebbins Pond is Calef Lake Camping Area, and do take a hike on the Old Country Road. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Sebbins Pond,
and the overnight is fairly chillier of course, generally in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Sebbins Pond are in the 10's.

 | 12 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
