     You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sandy Pond has to offer, you can camp at Tyngsboro Campground, and you can hit the slopes at McIntyre nearby. Get covered with water paddling on Concord River, and Best Western Granite Inn is a delightful location to get some rest. There is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Sandy Pond called the Old Country Road; near Sandy Pond you stumble on a golf course called Green Meadow Golf Club. Why not pop by  
   Indian Head also since you're here, and from Sandy Pond you get a great panorama of Library Hill.
High temperatures at Sandy Pond throughout the warm months are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Sandy Pond. Sandy Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and
 
               the driest month of the year is September. A lake nearby is Mill Pond, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Bradford.

Near Sandy Pond you come across the Mitchell Hill Road which is a magnificent hiking trail, and since you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Manchester-Nashua. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do right next door to Sandy Pond. Nashua River is a good spot to have a look at; whitewater paddling is good on Merrimack River.
This lake is so wonderful. Sandy Pond is not the only place nearby, Salmon Brook Main Street Pond is a nearby lake, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn NASHUA is a glorious choice. This lake is so wonderful. International Paper Box Company Dam is a location that is close to Sandy Pond, and you can stay the night at Tynsborough Campground.

Locust Pond

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats....

We've been at Calef Lake for 16 yrs. now, so that should tell you what type of campground it is. My children, who spent their summers there, are now bringing their children to Calef. Each year they have made improvements to the host of ammenities present. Besides, there are some great 5 pounders there to be caught....
