If you like lakes and you're in this part of New Hampshire you can check out Sandhill Pond. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Sandhill Pond has to offer, you can camp at Friendly Beaver Camp Ground, and if you've had enough of Sandhill Pond, Colby Pond is nearby. One of the principal features of the surroundings of Sandhill Pond is Cochran Hill, and going for a hike on the Mitchell Hill Road is always a wonderful adventure. Cold Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. You can run the rapids of Souhegan River in the vicinity of Sandhill Pond; dry warm beds await you at Hill - Brook Motel. This lake is so wonderful. A
great location for whitewater paddling next to Sandhill Pond is Piscataquog River - South Branch, needless to say you could also go to Mayberry Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. Stay the night at Wildwood Campground, and
nearby you stumble on the Old Country Road which is a glorious hiking trail. Sandhill Pond mostly gets lots of precipitation; throughout the month of November you get the most rain around here while January is usually the driest
month. During the summer months, highs usually are in the 80's at Sandhill Pond. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Sandhill Pond temperatures sink to the 10's.
