Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Saltmarsh Pond. Gunstock has fine slopes and a friendly staff, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Ridge Trail. A magnificent site for whitewater paddling next to Saltmarsh Pond is Suncook River, and you'll meet a lot of people from Laconia here.       There's a forest here at Saltmarsh Pond called Saltmarsh Pond State Forest; a trip to Endicott Park Beach is always a great idea. Just can't get enough of Saltmarsh Pond. You'll stumble on a lovely lake called Lily Pond near Saltmarsh Pond, and camping at Dolly Copp Big Meadow - White Mountain National Forest is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Do explore Opechee Bay Reservoir close to Saltmarsh Pond, it's a charming lake, and an afternoon                  playing golf at Pheasant Ridge Country Club is always a bliss. Just can't get enough of the White Mountains. On a lovely day you can pop by Gilford Beach near Saltmarsh Pond, and The Margate Resort is a good place to get some rest. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Saltmarsh Pond. After a long day outdoors Lake Opechee Inn and Spa is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and if you came to camp Barnes Field Campground - White Mountain National Forest is a great place to do that. And if that's not enough there's a lot more cool things to do in the White Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Abenaki close at hand, and the Butterworth Trail offers hiking at its best. And that's not everything you can do here in the White Mountains. Get your pulse rate up on the fine whitewater of Winnipesaukee River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Saltmarsh Pond; Rattlesnake Trail is a wonderful local trail. Saltmarsh Pond is a pretty wet place frequently with a lot of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is typically November, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
