Saco Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Through the days of summer at Saco Lake highs are ordinarily in the 70's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Saco Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. The peak of Mount Avalon can be seen from Saco Lake; a good close by hotel is Highland Center Crawford Notch. Yeah,

| | come up here to the White Mountains for a pleasant time. While you're here at Saco Lake you can take a hike along the Avalon Trail, and don't leave Saco Lake without first checking out Elephant Head.
This lake is so wonderful. A good site to camp here at Saco Lake is Dry River Campground, and if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ammonoosuc River. The skiing at Attitash Bear Peak is brilliant. An average amount of rainfall | |

falls at Saco Lake; August is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February.
You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You're perhaps into lakes, Ammonoosuc Lake is one of those nearby; why
not camp at Tarry-ho-cottages while you're here at Saco Lake. If you need a place to stay Mount Washington Hotel is a good choice, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Bretton Woods is rather near. On a tremendous day at Saco Lake
you can take a hike along the Webster Trail; Dry River is a fine whitewater spot close by.
This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in the White Mountains will keep
you coming back time and again. Take a little journey to Assaguam Brook if you're here at Saco Lake, and going for a hike along the Mount Avalon Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
