If you are in Merrimack county it's always a good idea to stop by Round Pond. Burnham Brook is a nice local stream; float down the rapids of Suncook River in a kayak. Round Pond gets a typical amount of rain; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. Get covered with water paddling on Little Suncook; you get a brilliant sight of Brush Hill from here. While you're here at

| | Round Pond you can take a hike along the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Red Roof Inn Loudon. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop by Bear Brook Park Pond near Round Pond, it's a picturesque lake, and you can stay the night at Circle 9 Ranch Campground. but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Round Pond. An attention-grabbing thing to explore next to Round Pond is Huckins Dam; Fairfield Inn & Suites Hooksett is a great place to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to
explore everything Round Pond has to offer, you can camp at Epsom Valley Campground, and hiking along the Onemile Trail is magnificent fun. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. A delightful lake like Little River Reservoir
near Round Pond is a brilliant spot to take a look at. People from Laconia love to come to Round Pond, and Gunstock has good slopes and a friendly staff. Summertime highs at Round Pond commonly tend to be in the 80's; all through
summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Round Pond.

Sun River Campground
 | Have been here a couple of times and its the best! We go with a group and get all the sites near the river/stream (perhaps the river/stream is Sun River)and its wonderful!!! No need to worry about the kids and/or dogs bothering anyone and they can just play in the water, fish, look for frogs, float on their tubes, etc. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean!!! We've stayed here a number of years and I couldn't ask for more from a camp ground . . . you're camping but still have all the conveniences right at hand! The spot we get near the water is by far the best! Country store is close and, for those who are interested, I can even use my cell phone (only if necessary, of course)without getting cut off! Thumbs up to Sun River Camp Ground!!! ... |
