     Rice Reservoir is right by the Hang Glider Trail, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Connecticut River. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Rice Reservoir; Futures Trail is a fine local trail; an afternoon playing golf at Claremont Country Club Country Club is always a bliss. Now, you may assume that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Rice Reservoir. A day on the slopes of Ascutney is just what you need, and a lake nearby  
   is Whitewater Reservoir. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Whaleback is in the vicinity of Rice Reservoir; this is a popular spot for folks from Lebanon.
Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a nice time here at Rice Reservoir. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Claremont is a good choice, and Rice Reservoir is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Running Bear Camping Area is a perfect local campground. The warmest time of the year brings highs
 
               in the 80's to Rice Reservoir with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 20's, and overnight lows all through the winter for Rice Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. Paddling on Sugar River is so much fun, and a nice place to camp here at Rice Reservoir is Mount Ascutney State Park Campground.
This lake is so wonderful. A glorious close by hotel is Holiday Inn Club Vacations AT ASCUTNEY MOUNTAIN RESORT, and Whitewater Brook is in the vicinity of Rice Reservoir and is always a pleasure to stop at. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Rice Reservoir, you could also stop by nearby Rice Reservoir; the Slot Trail offers hiking at its best.
The amount of rainfall that falls at Rice Reservoir is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is regularly May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is February. On a gorgeous day you get a sight of Bald Mountain from Rice Reservoir; Rice Reservoir Dam is striking.
