Nat Hall: This has got to be the best kept secret in New Hampshire!  A fantastic place to kayak or canoe.  I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles.  It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum.  I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Powder Mill Pond; Parker Trail is a delightful local trail, and not far from Powder Mill Pond you acquire some delightful water scenery at Powder Mill Pond Dam. The amount of rain that falls at Powder Mill Pond is close to the national average; November is       the month that gets the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Camping at Seven Maples Campground is always a glorious experience, and there's glorious hiking along the Wapack Trail. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Powder Mill Pond has it all. A good place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Powder Mill Pond is Contoocook River - North Branch. Lakes? Sure, Contoocook River Reservoir is nearby. This is no                  spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. You'll meet a lot of folks from Manchester-Nashua here, and the Pumpelly Trail offers hiking at its best. There are other locations here than Powder Mill Pond, for example Contoocook River Reservoir, and a wonderful nearby hotel is The Henniker Motel. All through the warmest time of the year here at Powder Mill Pond, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Powder Mill Pond. Visit Great Brook if you're here at Powder Mill Pond; the slopes of Crotched Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. One of the best things about Powder Mill Pond is its proximity to Picnickers Beach; if you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Contoocook River. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a great location to spend a night or two, and hey, Gotta ski right?
