After a long day outdoors Crowne Plaza Hotel NASHUA is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Wachusett Mountain. At Pout Pond during the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Townsend Ridge Country Club is close by, and Pout Pond is a magnificent place to visit for more than one day, Field and Stream Travel Trailer Park is a magnificent place to camp nearby.

and possibly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Cider Mill Pond is just a very short distance away. On a lovely day you obtain a panorama of Coreys Hill from Pout Pond, and you can stay the night at Field & Stream Travel Trailer.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Pout Pond it's a great idea to stop by Devils Den, and nice water scenery is available at Potanipo Pond Dam right next door to Pout Pond.

a glorious place to get some rest, and there are some magnificent whitewater spots on Souhegan River. Pout Pond in fact is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise. There are plenty of folks from Manchester-Nashua here at Pout
Pond, and needless to say, this is a magnificent vicinity for people who like lakes, Williams Pond is a lake in close proximity. This lake is so wonderful. There is a great hiking trail next to Pout Pond called the Mitchell Hill Road;
a wonderful swamp in the vicinity of Pout Pond is Campbells Meadow.
The snow is magnificent at McIntyre. Much rainfall falls at Pout Pond; November is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is September.

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
