You're probably hooked on lakes, Williams Pond is one of those nearby, and don't leave Potanipo Pond without first going for a hike along the Wapack Trail. You don’t have to go far from Potanipo Pond to catch a sight of the water at Potanipo Pond Dam. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Potanipo Pond has to offer, you can camp at Field and Stream Travel Trailer Park.

If you like skiing, you're in luck; Wachusett Mountain is near Potanipo Pond. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Go for a hike on the Old Country Road. There's so much to do here at Potanipo Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Field & Stream Travel Trailer is a great spot for that. This | |

you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Townsend Ridge Country Club is close at hand. A swamp like Talbot Swamp close to Potanipo Pond has lots of attention-grabbing things to see, and get soaked paddling on Souhegan River.
Don’t forget to explore Devils Den since you're here at Potanipo Pond, and you might also want to pay a visit to Lost Valley if you're here at Potanipo Pond. That right there is a lot already, but it continues; Potanipo Pond has
it all. Four Points By Sheraton Leominster is a perfect place to get some rest, and going for a hike on the Mitchell Hill Road is always a good adventure. At Potanipo Pond all through the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's
with overnight lows in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and night lows through the wintertime for Potanipo Pond tend to be in the 10's. The high level of rain makes Potanipo Pond a rather wet spot; most of the rain falls all through November; September is when it's the driest.

 | 16 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
