Good hiking is available along the Ice Gulch Path, and a picturesque lake like Cedar Pond is a pleasant location to visit. Pontook Reservoir gets a common amount of yearly rain; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors A Top Notch Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. You'll need more than a day       to explore everything Pontook Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Nay Pond Campground. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Pontook Reservoir. Pontook Reservoir Dam is a striking site next to Pontook Reservoir; whitewater paddling is perfect on Androscoggin River. Man, is there a load of cool stuff to do in the White Mountains. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Island Brook, and do stop by Mud Pond, it's a gorgeous                  lake. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the White Mountains, too perfect to be true. Go for a hike on the Bog Dam Trail; Balsams Wilderness is a very popular ski area around here. A pleasant nearby hotel is Budget Inn Berlin Nr White MT; going for a hike on the Jericho Trail is always a great adventure. At Pontook Reservoir during the summertime months highs are in the 70's. Summer night lows fall down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's while Pontook Reservoir night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 0's. The peak of Bickford Hill can be seen from Pontook Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful.
