You can run the rapids of Contoocook River next to Perkins Pond, and close by you stumble on the Mitchell Hill Road which is a great hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Near Perkins Pond you stumble on a golf course called Oak Brook Golf Course, and there's whitewater on Piscataquog River - South Branch for all you thrill seekers. If you get bored of Perkins Pond, you could also       go to close by Mount William Pond, and there are plenty of folks from Manchester-Nashua here at Perkins Pond. All Seasons Campground is a great campground nearby; there is a great hiking trail close by called the Old Country Road. This lake is so wonderful. A lake close by is Duck Pond, and a splendid close by hotel is The Henniker Motel. Just can't get enough of Perkins Pond. After a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Concord/Bow is a delightful site to spend                  a night or two, and going for a hike on the Wapack Trail is always a perfect adventure. Peacock Hill Campground is a good local campground; Pats Peak has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. During the summertime highs here at Perkins Pond get into the 80's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Perkins Pond. But wait, there's more to do right next door to Perkins Pond. Crotched Mountain is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and Mount Dearborn is picturesque and can be spotted from here. Perkins Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is January.
