Parker Pond is excellent! Really glorious skiing awaits you at Wachusett Mountain. Why not camp at Monadnock State Park Campground while you're here at Parker Pond, and going for a hike       along the Pumpelly Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Parker Pond gets a typical amount of precipitation; all through August this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Through the summertime highs here at Parker Pond reach the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
