There's so much to do here at Ox Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Sandy Beach Family Campground is a delightful spot for that. There are other places here than Ox Pond, for example Contoocook River Reservoir, and after a long day outdoors The Henniker Motel is a great site to spend a night or two. At Ox Pond all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's. When the       night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Ox Pond dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights. Any time is a pleasant time at Ox Pond if you fancy the outdoors. Hiking along the Old Country Road is delightful fun, and a day on the slopes of Ragged Mountain is just what you need. Ox Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; November is when you get the                  most rain here while January is mostly the driest month. Ox Pond is right by the Wilmot Trail, and why not head up to Pats Peak and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. At Contoocook Village Dam right next door to Ox Pond there are some interesting things to see, and some of the water close by flows, like Browns Brook. Davisville State Forest is worth taking a look at, and dry warm beds await you at Centennial Inn. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Ox Pond. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Ox Pond has to offer, you can camp at Cold Brook Campground; you can run the rapids of Merrimack River. Pillsbury Lake is a great lake in the vicinity of Ox Pond, and from Ox Pond you get a fine vista of Chase Hill. This lake is so wonderful.
