Northwood Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Blake's Brook Campground is a wonderful local campground, and there's whitewater on Little Suncook for all you adrenaline junkies. Man, is there heaps of fun things to do in close proximity to Northwood Lake. Flat Meadow Brook is a pretty stream that is worth a visit, and lots of folks from Laconia come here. The slopes of McIntyre are so inviting noone can resist; if you're here, you could also

| | stop at picturesque Pleasant Lake. A delightful place to camp here at Northwood Lake is Circle 9 Ranch Campground, and after a long day outdoors Loudon Red Roof Inn is a nice place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Browns Hill is clearly visible from Northwood Lake, and if you need a spot to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Hooksett is a perfect choice. Good hiking is available along the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and what would winter be without | |

some skiing at Gunstock. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Northwood Lake without first going for a hike along the Campground Trail, and you can run the rapids of Suncook River. There's good hiking along the Catamount Trail;
do have a look at Voydatch Pond, it's a beautiful lake. If only every site had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. At Pleasant Lake Dam in close proximity to Northwood Lake there are some attention-grabbing
things to see. For the duration of the warm months at Northwood Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are typically in the 20's; after the
sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Northwood Lake descend into the 0's. Northwood Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while January is usually the driest month.

Sun River Campground
 | Have been here a couple of times and its the best! We go with a group and get all the sites near the river/stream (perhaps the river/stream is Sun River)and its wonderful!!! No need to worry about the kids and/or dogs bothering anyone and they can just play in the water, fish, look for frogs, float on their tubes, etc. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean!!! We've stayed here a number of years and I couldn't ask for more from a camp ground . . . you're camping but still have all the conveniences right at hand! The spot we get near the water is by far the best! Country store is close and, for those who are interested, I can even use my cell phone (only if necessary, of course)without getting cut off! Thumbs up to Sun River Camp Ground!!! ... |
