A brilliant location for whitewater paddling close to North Pond is Contoocook River - North Branch, and hiking along the Wilmot Trail is brilliant fun. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge, and North Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Rand Pond Campground is a wonderful local campground. This       lake is so wonderful. Mount Sunapee is a very popular ski area close at hand, and if you've had enough of North Pond, May Pond is nearby. Any time is a wonderful time at North Pond if you love the outdoors. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Claremont is a delightful choice, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Sugar River. High temperatures at North Pond during the warm months are in the 70's; the night is slightly chillier of course,                  usually in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at North Pond are in the 10's. Take a hike on the Monadnock Sunapee Trail, and camping at Idle Times Campground is always a good experience. This lake is so wonderful. You can observe Bryant Mountain from North Pond, and going for a hike along the Pumpelly Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Do stop at Butterfield Pond Dam while you're here at North Pond, and North Pond is not the only place close by, Bear Pond is a close by lake. North Pond is a good spot of typical rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and January on the other hand is the driest. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at North Pond.
