Mud Pond is a lake worth visiting. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Mud Pond. Baisdell Hill is clearly visible from Mud Pond, and a nice nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Claremont. Really wonderful skiing awaits you at Whaleback, and you can take a little journey to Lake Sunapee Dam if you're here at Mud Pond. Mud Pond gets a normal amount of yearly rain; the wettest month of the year is typically August, that's the one that rains the most while

| | January is frequently the driest month. Near Mud Pond you stumble on the Monadnock Sunapee Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Why not stop at Bay Point also if you're here; Mountainview Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit. Any time is a nice time at Mud Pond if you adore the outdoors. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Croyden Brook, and if you came to camp Rand Pond Campground is a pleasant spot to do that. | |

This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a brilliant choice, and do go to Chandler Brook since you're here at Mud Pond. Nothing beats kicking back at State Park Beach; if you get bored
of Mud Pond you could also stop at nearby Lake Sunapee. You can never get enough of the tremendous skiing at Mount Sunapee, and going for a hike on the Wilmot Trail is always a good adventure. At Mud Pond all through the long
summer days highs are in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Mud Pond. Dewey Beach is a beach in close proximity to Mud Pond that
you can stop at, and camping at Loon Lake Campground is always a great experience. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Sugar River, and you can go for a hike on the West Ridge Trail.

Ragged Mountain
 | 17 miles away I went to this mountain with my school and it was a really fun expiernce and I am planning to go back with my school some time soon.......y 2007, Ragged Mountain, a 1,650 acre mountain resort which includes a 220 acre ski area and an 18-hole golf course, was purchased by Salt Lake City based resort developer RMR-Pacific, an affiliate of Pacific Group. Since then, total acreage has increased to 2,000 and plans call for 65 further acres of slopes. Upon acquiring the mountain property, the new owners invested over $2 million into the resort for renovations including 14,000 feet of new snow making pipe, 25 new energy efficient snow guns, new snow groomers, a new Wonder carpet lift for beginners, chairlift improvements including reviving lift service to Spear Mountain, base lodge renovations including new carpet, the repair of steps and outside brick walkways, the addition of seasonal lockers and an outdoor fire pit, and adding two new restaurants. The renovations did not stop there. In 2008, Ragged Mountain announced the addition of a new upscale dining establishment, additional snow-making capacity, and three all new terrain parks including one of the only all natural terrain parks in the East.
