Having a great time at Mud Pond is painless. Everybody close by loves skiing at Ragged Mountain, and Mud Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Sandy Beach Family Campground is a great local campground. A perfect close by hotel is The Henniker Motel, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Melton       Falls Trail. So many exciting things in close proximity to Mud Pond, simply extraordinary. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites TILTON is a great place to spend a night or two; get wet paddling on Blackwater River. This lake is so wonderful. You get a brilliant vista of Bean Hill from Mud Pond, and Pats Peak is a delightful local ski area. The amount of rainfall that falls at Mud Pond is close to the national average; May is when                  you get the most rain here while January is commonly the driest month. Mud Pond is not the only spot close by, Knights Meadow Marsh Reservoir is a close by lake, and going for a hike along the Wilmot Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Some of the water close by flows, like Frazier Brook, of course you could also visit Bagley Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. You'll meet a lot of folks from Concord here; check out nearby Knights Meadow Marsh. During the warm days of summer here at Mud Pond, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.
