The beauty of Mud Pond attracts many people from all around. While you're here at Mud Pond you will meet lots of folks from nearby Concord, and there's a great forest called Ames State Forest. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at Mile/Away Campground; if you need a place to stay The Henniker Motel is a nice choice. Summer at Mud Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once

| | the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mud Pond are in the 0's. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Pats Peak; The Centennial is a brilliant site to get some rest. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mud Pond a wet location; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. | |

Contoocook River is a fine whitewater spot close to Mud Pond; if you've had enough of Mud Pond, Keyser Pond is nearby. Hiking along the Wilmot Trail is brilliant fun, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Craney
Pond is just a very short distance away. Mud Pond is right by the Old Country Road, and Amey Brook is right next door to Mud Pond and is always a bliss to go to. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Mud Pond has it
all. A good panorama of pretty Craney Hill is available from Mud Pond. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Pond. Mud Pond is a nice site to visit for more than one day, Keyser Pond Campground is a nice site to camp nearby,
and a round of golf at nearby Duston Country Club Golf Course is a tremendous way to kill some time. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike along the Wapack Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and why not head up to Crotched Mountain and strap some skis to your feet.
