Through the summertime here at Mud Pond, high temperatures mostly reach the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while Mud Pond nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Mud Pond is not the only place close by, Morrill Pond is a close by lake, and a great spot for whitewater paddling is Contoocook River. This       lake is so wonderful. The Old Country Road offers hiking at its best, also Dudley Pond Dam is worth going to while you're here. You get a good sight of Bear Hill from Mud Pond, and you can hit the slopes at Pats Peak in the vicinity. There's a forest here at Mud Pond called Vincent State Forest, and there's some flowing water close by, Patten Brook is a stream you can stop by while here. This lake is so wonderful. Crotched Mountain is a very popular ski area                  in the vicinity, and Mile/Away Campground is a brilliant local campground. Good hiking is available along the Wilmot Trail; after a long day outdoors Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a perfect location to spend a night or two. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area near Mud Pond has to offer. Why not camp at Rock' N Birch Campground since you're here at Mud Pond, and The Henniker Motel is a good spot to get some rest. There's delightful hiking along the Wapack Trail, and Mud Pond is not far at all from Concord. Mud Pond gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; most of the rain falls during November while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Mud Pond really is in the middle of a delightful outdoors paradise.
