There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Mountain Pond called the Sable Mountain Trail, and a good site for       whitewater paddling is Saco River - East Branch. All the outdoors amusing things close to Mountain Pond will keep you coming back over and over. On a great day at Mountain Pond you can take a hike along the Mountain Pond Trail, and camping at Basin Pond Campground is always a pleasant experience. Nearby lakes? Sure, Province Pond is in the neighborhood of Mountain Pond; if the weather is delightful, you obtain a good vista of Mountain Shaw from Mountain                  Pond. Mountain Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most snow; February meanwhile is the driest month. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ellis River; Mountain Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Basin Campground and Picnic Area is a splendid local campground. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the brilliant skiing at Black Mountain. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the White Mountains. If the weather is magnificent here at Mountain Pond, you can go for a hike along the Mountain Shaw Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Clarendon Motel.
