Crotched Mountain is a great site to do that; as expected Patten Brook flows through this area. The slopes of Pats Peak are so inviting noone can resist; if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Angus Lea Golf Course is nearby. Morrill Pond really is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then       we recommend Contoocook River, and after a long day outdoors Bear Hill Motel & Rentals is a great place to spend a night or two. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the area right next door to Morrill Pond has to offer. From a rainfall point of view Morrill Pond is a quite normal place; November is when you get the most rain here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Morrill Pond is right by the Wilmot                  Trail, and you can stay the night at Mile/Away Campground. Hiking along the Wapack Trail is splendid fun, and you don’t have to go far from Morrill Pond to see the water at Contoocook Valley Paper Company Dam. At Morrill Pond during the months of summer highs are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Morrill Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Morrill Pond is not far at all from Concord, and if you need a site to stay The Henniker Motel is a delightful choice. This lake is so wonderful. Dudley Pond is a magnificent lake in close proximity to Morrill Pond, and a fine panorama of stunning Bear Hill is available.
