A fine site to camp here at Millen Lake is Idle Times Campground, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a great place to spend a night or two. During the summertime, highs commonly are in the 70's at Millen Lake. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows

| | in the 10's to Millen Lake. The Pumpelly Trail is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Millen Lake; Ashuelot River has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by. A lake close by is Barden Pond, and Farnsworth Hill is charming and can be distinguished from here. Man, is there a lot of amusing things to do close to Millen Lake. Brook. Gotta ski! Crotched Mountain is a good place to do that, and if you get bored of Millen Lake you could also visit nearby Millen Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is glorious here at Millen Lake, you can go
for a hike along the Monadnock Sunapee Trail, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Contoocook River - North Branch. The annual rain here at Millen Lake is about average; throughout
the month of August you get the most rain around here, and January on the other hand is the driest. Everybody close by loves skiing at Mount Sunapee, and Millen Lake Dam is not far at all from Millen Lake. If only every place
had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great globe it would be. Dry warm beds await you at E.F. Lane Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Rand Pond Campground while you're here at Millen Lake, and this is a popular spot for people from Keene.

I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles. It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum. I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists.... |
