There's whitewater on Concord River for all you adrenaline kick people, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn NASHUA is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. Why not check out Indian Head also since you're here, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Merrimack River. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the neighborhood of Mill Pond. A tremendous nearby hotel is Best Western Granite Inn; if you like skiing, you're in luck; McIntyre is quite near. you can pop by Jackson Plant Dam; Tynsborough Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. Hiking along the Mitchell Hill Road is perfect fun, and a quick journey to Hale Brook is definitely a nice idea. You assume that's sufficient?
Just getting warmed up. Green Meadow Golf Club is a glorious golf course close by; you can stay the night at Tyngsboro Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such serene spots, why not take a look at Salmon Brook Main Street
Pond near Mill Pond, and one of the major traits of the surroundings of Mill Pond is Library Hill. During the warm months highs here at Mill Pond reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mill Pond temperatures descend to the 10's.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
