     A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Lake Metalak; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month is February. If you want a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the White Mountains. Lakes are glorious; Millsfield Pond is a lake that's next to Lake Metalak, and going for a hike along the Bog Dam Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.

   is a glorious campground nearby, and get wet paddling on Androscoggin River. These mountains rock, just look at all the exciting things to do in the White Mountains. Balsams Wilderness has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff; after a long day outdoors Budget Inn Berlin Nr White MT is a good location to spend a night or two. Be careful coming to Lake Metalak, you might not ever want to go home again. If you need a site to stay A Top Notch Inn is a tremendous  
               choice, and while you're here you can take a hike along the York Pond Trail.
During the summer highs here at Lake Metalak reach the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Metalak temperatures dip to the 0's. Not far from Lake Metalak, you'll stumble on Bragg Pond which is a picturesque lake; why not take a little journey to North Inlet since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Cedar Pond Campground, and from Lake Metalak you obtain a good sight of Mount Patience.
This lake is located in the wonderful White Mountains. Here at Lake Metalak you'll most likely meet some folks from Berlin, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Jericho Trail.

Cedar Pond
I spent most of my summers growing up at cedar pond.We had our camp there and I remember the penny candy at the red and white striped store and the dog inky. There was also a dog named cedar that would visit all the camps in search of food. The lake would be freezing even in August and when we had to start a fire in the furnace the only wood we had to burn was obviously cedar and the smell was wonderful. And though the ''camp'' my Pepere had is no longer there, the wonderful memories are....
