     Near Melendys Pond you stumble on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and Melendys Pond is not the only spot nearby, Ottarnic Pond is a nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn NASHUA is a magnificent choice, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Merrimack River. This lake is so wonderful. A quick spree to Nashua River close to Melendys Pond is a glorious idea; Melendys Pond is a wonderful place  
   to visit for more than one day, Tyngsboro Campground is a wonderful place to camp nearby. Melendys Pond is a wet site that gets a large amount of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally November, that's the one that rains the most while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Dry warm beds await you at Radisson Hotel Nashua, and if you come at the right time of year, Concord River offers some glorious whitewater. What
 
               a place this is for outdoors people. Bradford is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and since you're here you can play some golf at Green Meadow Golf Club. Summertime highs at Melendys Pond typically tend to be in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the winter at Melendys Pond temperatures dip to the 0's.
If you get bored of Melendys Pond, you could also have a look at close by Little Ottarnic Pond, and you can hit the slopes at McIntyre in the neighborhood. Melendys Pond in fact is in the middle of a gorgeous outdoors paradise. Tynsborough Campground is a pleasant local campground. There are fine places to discover along the Campground Trail, and Improved Machinery Pond Dam is an exciting thing to check out.
Going for a hike on the Old Country Road is always a great adventure, and Melendys Pond is not far at all from Manchester-Nashua.

Locust Pond

Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats....
