Sugar River is a tremendous whitewater spot close to McQuade Reservoir; there's always Fitch Reservoir Dam to visit near McQuade Reservoir. Summer brings highs in the 80's to McQuade Reservoir, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the winter at McQuade Reservoir temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Country Club Country Club, and if you need a spot to stay Rodeway Inn Claremont is a good choice. Be careful coming to McQuade Reservoir, you might not ever want to return back home again. McQuade Reservoir is a nice place to visit
for more than one day, Mount Ascutney State Park Campground is a nice place to camp nearby, and in case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Connecticut River.
