Not far from Matthews Pond you get some wonderful water scenery at Lime Pond Dam, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Nulhegan River. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Matthews Pond. If you want       a pleasant time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Green Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Lime Pond, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Balsams Wilderness if you're here. Near Matthews Pond you locate the Loon Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and you're sure to encounter some good people from Berlin here. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the                  70's to Matthews Pond with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Matthews Pond nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 0's. I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Matthews Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Coos Motor Inn, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Mohawk River. This lake is so wonderful. Colebrook Country Club Motel is a great golf course nearby, and it's a delightful idea to check out Beaver Brook. This lake is located in the wonderful Green Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. There is a nice hiking trail near Matthews Pond called the Shore Trail, and obviously, this is a great vicinity for folks who like lakes, Lombard Pond is a lake close by. On a nice day at Matthews Pond you can take a hike along the Moose Trail, and if you came to camp Mohawk Valley Camping Area is a pleasant spot to do that. A short tour to Beaver Brook Falls is always worthwhile. There's so much to do here at Matthews Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Notch View is a wonderful place for that.
