Lougee Pond is always a pleasure to visit. High temperatures at Lougee Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lougee Pond are in the 0's. Lougee Pond is not far at all from Laconia; going for a hike along the Campground Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. The

| | best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Gunstock, and while you're here, you could also stop at picturesque Suncook River Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Near Lougee Pond you hit upon a golf course called Nippo Lake Golf Club; you can stay the night at Sun River Campground. The snow is good at Abenaki, and Lougee Pond is a brilliant spot to visit for more than one day, Hillcrest Campground and Cabins is a brilliant spot to camp nearby. | |

Do explore Lily Lake in the vicinity of Lougee Pond, it's a scenic lake, and the top of Beauty Hill is easily made out from Lougee Pond. Lougee Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain
while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Man, is there a lot of cool stuff to do right next door to Lougee Pond. If you come at the right time of year, Suncook River offers some fine whitewater, and hiking
along the Catamount Trail is great fun. If you need a site to stay Red Roof Inn Loudon is a good choice; don't forget to take a nice little visit to Kelley Brook. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. A tremendous close by hotel is Wolfeboro Inn; Lougee Pond is right by the Onemile Trail.

 | Have been here a couple of times and its the best! We go with a group and get all the sites near the river/stream (perhaps the river/stream is Sun River)and its wonderful!!! No need to worry about the kids and/or dogs bothering anyone and they can just play in the water, fish, look for frogs, float on their tubes, etc. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean!!! We've stayed here a number of years and I couldn't ask for more from a camp ground . . . you're camping but still have all the conveniences right at hand! The spot we get near the water is by far the best! Country store is close and, for those who are interested, I can even use my cell phone (only if necessary, of course)without getting cut off! Thumbs up to Sun River Camp Ground!!! ... |
