Oxbow Campground is a splendid local campground, needless to say you could also stop at Franklin Pierce Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Any time is a perfect time at Loon Pond if you like the outdoors. Bible Hill is a peak you can observe from Loon       Pond; if you come at the right time of year, Contoocook River - North Branch offers some great whitewater. There are some fine whitewater spots on Contoocook River; golf can be played at Angus Lea Golf Course. A lake close by is Contention Pond, and do take a hike on the Wilmot Trail. The slopes of Crotched Mountain are so inviting nobody can resist, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Monadnock Sunapee Trail. A typical amount of precipitation falls here                  at Loon Pond; most of the rain falls all through November, and January is when it's the driest. This spot is peerless, just check out all the fun things to do close to Loon Pond. What would winter be without some skiing at Mount Sunapee; hiking along the Wapack Trail is pleasant fun. This lake is so wonderful. Cliffton's Country Camping is a pleasant campground nearby; a tremendous nearby hotel is Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge. An out of the ordinary thing to stop at in the vicinity of Loon Pond is Lake Franklin Pierce Dam, and hey, Shedd Brook is a good local stream. Through the summertime here at Loon Pond, high temperatures frequently get into the 70's; the night is a bit cooler of course, generally in the 50's.
