Going for a hike on the Catamount Trail is always a great adventure. High temperatures at Loon Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Loon Pond dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and do stop by Meetinghouse       Pond, it's a charming lake. While you're here at Loon Pond, you could also stop by beautiful Rollins Pond, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Nippo Lake Golf Club. If you need a site to stay Red Roof Inn Loudon is a delightful choice, and a day on the slopes of Abenaki is just what you need. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Loon Pond. Parsonage Hill is clearly visible from Loon Pond; dry warm beds await you at The                  Landmark Inn. Lots of folks from Laconia come to Loon Pond, and why not head up to Gunstock and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. Loon Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, The Acord Campground is a wonderful local campground, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Suncook River. Near Loon Pond you find the Onemile Trail which is a good hiking trail, and a delightful place to camp here at Loon Pond is Hillcrest Campground and Cabins.
