You could also stop at Center Pond if you're here at Long Pond; it's close by, and if you come at the right time of year, Winnipesaukee River offers some fine whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Merrimack River; camping at Silver Lake Park Campground is always a delightful       experience. Hiking along the Catamount Trail is perfect fun, and after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Suites Tilton is a glorious place to spend a night or two. The warmest time of the year at Long Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Long Pond. Long Pond is a good site of normal precipitation; during the                  month of May you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Long Pond. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and Long Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, The Acord Campground is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. A magnificent nearby hotel is Loudon Red Roof Inn, and for you golfers we recommend close by Loudon Country Club. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Long Pond. Shaker State Forest is worth taking a look at, and do take a hike on the Onemile Trail. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby McIntyre; getting to Bumfagon Brook from Long Pond is easy.
