The beauty of Long Pond attracts many people from all around. Really great skiing awaits you at McIntyre, and a brilliant panorama of charming Mount Misery is available. So much amusing stuff in close proximity to Long Pond, truly mind-blowing. There are some great whitewater spots on Piscataquog River, and there are plenty of people from Manchester-Nashua here at Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful. | | some tremendous whitewater, and don't forget to explore The Basin while you're here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Long Pond a wet location; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is January. visit to Long Pond Brook next to Long Pond is a nice idea; going for a hike on the Catamount Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Lakes? Sure, Crystal Lake is in close proximity, and a golf course nearby is Londonderry Country Club.
The Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is a good hiking trail next to Long Pond; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Massabesic Lake. Having a pleasant time at Long Pond is uncomplicated.
If you need a spot to stay Sleep Inn Londonderry is a splendid choice; Massabesic Lake Dam is a place that is close to Long Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Near Long Pond you discover the Campground Trail which is a great hiking
trail, and if you came to camp Calef Lake Camping Area is a nice spot to do that. Summertime highs at Long Pond ordinarily tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout
the wintertime are in the 20's while Long Pond night low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 0's.

Locust Pond
 | 13 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
