If you are in Hillsborough county it's always a good idea to stop by Little Ottarnic Pond. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Little Ottarnic Pond you will meet lots of people from nearby Manchester-Nashua; if you're a golfer then a brilliant nearby course is Green Meadow Golf Club. Not far from Little Ottarnic Pond, you'll find Ottarnic Pond which is a scenic lake, and what would winter be without some skiing at McIntyre. This lake is so wonderful.

At Little Ottarnic Pond through the months of summer highs are in the 80's; the night is a bit cooler of course, typically in the 50's. Pond is right by the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail. There's whitewater on Merrimack River for all you adrenaline people, and Nashua River is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting. Have a magnificent hiking adventure
along the Campground Trail; you can run the rapids of Concord River. And that's not all you can do here at Little Ottarnic Pond. Take a hike on the Old Country Road, and Tyngsboro Campground is a splendid local campground. You'll
never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Bradford while you're here, and if you need a site to stay Holiday Inn Nashua, Nh is a brilliant choice. Little Ottarnic Pond gets a large amount of water; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is September.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
