This lake is so wonderful. A delightful site to camp here at Little Cohas Brook Reservoir is Calef Lake Camping Area; swamps don’t sound that delightful but Great Cohas Swamp in close proximity to Little Cohas Brook Reservoir is relatively
delightful. Why not camp at Twin Oaks Campground while you're here at Little Cohas Brook Reservoir; hiking along the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail is delightful fun. A delightful nearby hotel is Towneplace Suites By Marriott
Manchester, and Bradford is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. A good deal of rainfall falls at Little Cohas Brook Reservoir; the month with most of the rain is November while January is typically the driest month. There's
some out of the ordinary stuff to spot at Webster Smith Dam in the neighborhood of Little Cohas Brook Reservoir, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Catamount Trail. McIntyre has great slopes and a friendly staff; Pine Island Pond is a wonderful lake close by.

Locust Pond
 | 11 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
