Many people like to go to Lincoln Pond. The summit of Cricket Hill can be seen from Lincoln Pond; you can go for a hike on the Mitchell Hill Road. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff next to Lincoln Pond. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at McIntyre since you're here, and a brilliant site to camp here at Lincoln Pond is Field and Stream Travel Trailer Park. | | fun; a quick visit to Joe English Brook is certainly a nice idea. After a long day outdoors The Bedford Village Inn is a fine place to spend a night or two, and a round of golf at nearby Buckmeadow Golf Club is a nice way to kill some time. You assume that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. There are tremendous places to explore along the Old Country Road; Lincoln Pond is not the only site nearby, Dream Lake is a nearby lake. with many visitors from Manchester-Nashua, and Piscataquog River - South Branch has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Autumn Hills Campground is always a great experience, and if
you get bored of Lincoln Pond you could also go to close by Jakes Pond. High Point is reasonably close to Lincoln Pond; Hill - Brook Motel is a wonderful location to get some rest. At Lincoln Pond all through the long summer days
highs are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 20's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Lincoln Pond tend to be in the 10's. Skiing at Pats Peak is one of
those things you just should do; don't leave Lincoln Pond without first going for a hike along the Wapack Trail. Lincoln Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; throughout November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is September.

Locust Pond
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
