Many people like to go to Island Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Salem, Nh, and skiing at Bradford is one of those things you just should do. Boulder Cove is reasonably near Island Pond, and paddling on Concord River is so much fun. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Island Pond. The view of Bond Hill from Island Pond is delightful, and float down the rapids of Merrimack River in a

| | kayak. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the brilliant skiing at McIntyre, and after a long day outdoors Red Roof Inn Salem is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. The yearly precipitation here at Island Pond is about average; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. great hiking trail close by. If you came to camp Sanborn Shore Acres is a great location to do that. The warmest time of the year at Island Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to
the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Island Pond. Lakes are good; Taylor Reservoir is a lake that's next to Island Pond, and going for a hike on the Catamount
Trail is always a pleasant adventure. The scenery at Big Island Pond Dam in the neighborhood of Island Pond is picturesque; nearby you discover the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail which is a splendid hiking trail. You're probably
addicted to lakes, Big Island Pond is one of those nearby, and Cunningham Brook is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out. Be careful coming to Island Pond, you might not ever wanna return home again. A golf
course in close proximity to Island Pond is Atkinson Country Club. There's so much to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Escambuit Campground is a good place for that.

Locust Pond
 | 17 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
