Field'n Forest Recreation Area is a perfect campground nearby, and brilliant skiing awaits you at Crotched Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Contoocook River - North Branch for all you thrill seekers, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a wonderful place to spend a night or two. You can run the rapids       of Contoocook River next to Hunts Pond; you can stay the night at Seven Maples Campground. A glorious vista of picturesque Bald Mountain is available from Hunts Pond, and why not stop by Hunts Pond Dam while you're here. And if that's not enough, there's loads more to do in the vicinity of Hunts Pond. Mount Sunapee has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and Hunts Pond is right by the Pumpelly Trail.
