What a place this is for outdoors folks. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Contoocook River - North Branch, and lots of people from Keene come here. Skiing at Mount Sunapee is one of those things you just should do; get drenched paddling on Contoocook River. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike       on the Parker Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and after a long day outdoors E.F. Lane Hotel is a delightful spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There are fine spots to look at along the Cascade Link Trail, and if you came to camp Seven Maples Campground is a wonderful place to do that. Through the long summer days highs here at Hunts Pond get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. All through the winter                  the highs are typically in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hunts Pond. You're possibly keen on lakes, Jacks Pond is one of those close by. There's so much to do here at Hunts Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Field'n Forest Recreation Area is a great place for that. Hunts Pond Dam is worth taking a look at while you're here. Lakes are tremendous; Shadrach Pond is a lake that's near Hunts Pond. Hunts Pond in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. Near Hunts Pond you find the Pumpelly Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail, and Bald Mountain is charming and can be distinguished from here. The amount of precipitation that falls at Hunts Pond is close to the national average; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.   E.F.
