    Go to Head Pond if you want to go to a nice lake. But wait, there's more to do close to Head Pond. Jericho Brook flows through this neighborhood; hiking along the Cook Path is great fun. This lake is one of the great places here in the White Mountains. Head Pond gets a lot of water; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is February.
There are some perfect whitewater spots on Peabody River, and Black Mountain has great slopes and a
 
   friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. The Jericho Trail offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here at Head Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Nay Pond Campground is a splendid place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Cedar Pond Campground, and Head Pond is not the only location close by, Dead River Pond is a close by lake.
But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the White Mountains. Get yourself into
 
               a kayak and hit Androscoggin River, and A Top Notch Inn is a splendid place to get some rest. All through the long summer days at Head Pond highs are typically in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Head Pond are in the 0's.
Having a great time in the White Mountains is easy. Head Pond is right by the Ice Gulch Path, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Wildcat. After a long day outdoors Royalty Inn is a nice location to spend a night or two; if you've had enough of Head Pond, Jericho Lake is close by.

I spent most of my summers growing up at cedar pond.We had our camp there and I remember the penny candy at the red and white striped store and the dog inky. There was also a dog named cedar that would visit all the camps in search of food. The lake would be freezing even in August and when we had to start a fire in the furnace the only wood we had to burn was obviously cedar and the smell was wonderful.
