The beauty of Harris Pond attracts many people from all around. Harris Pond is right by the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and popping by Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. An average amount of precipitation falls at Harris Pond; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. the nice whitewater of Merrimack River, and Peters Pond Dam is a delightful location, unquestionably worth checking out. Summertime highs at Harris Pond mostly tend to be in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to
the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Harris Pond. You can never get enough of the magnificent skiing at Bradford, and if you need a location to stay Holiday
Inn Salem, Nh is a nice choice. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Campground Trail, and dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn & Suites Salem. I don't want to stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time
here at Harris Pond. Harris Pond is not the only spot close by, Forest Lake is a close by lake. There are plenty of folks from Boston-Cambridge-Quincy here at Harris Pond, and Sanborn Shore Acres is a good campground nearby.

 | 12 miles away 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
