     After a long day outdoors Best Western Sunapee Lake Lodge is a glorious site to spend a night or two, and if you're popping by from Keene, you won't be the only one. Just can't get enough of Halfmoon Pond. There are other spots here than Halfmoon Pond, for example Freezeland Pond, and you can hit the slopes at Crotched Mountain nearby. So much entertaining stuff to do at Halfmoon Pond, so little time. Going for a hike on the Pumpelly Trail is always a good adventure.  
   An average amount of precipitation falls at Halfmoon Pond; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest.
High temperatures at Halfmoon Pond all through the warm days of summer are in the 70's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Halfmoon Pond. Idle Times Campground is
 
               a splendid campground nearby, and Ames Hill can be seen from Halfmoon Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Ashuelot River; Mount Sunapee has splendid slopes and a friendly staff.
Float down the rapids of Contoocook River - North Branch in a kayak, and close by you find the Monadnock Sunapee Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Not far from Halfmoon Pond, you'll stumble on Barney Pond which is a charming lake; hey, Bog Brook is a good local stream. Stay the night at Rand Pond Campground; you can go for a hike on the Farmers Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay E.F. Lane Hotel is a splendid choice, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at Island Pond Dam.

Very shallow but a great large moulth fishery....This has got to be the best kept secret in New Hampshire!  A fantastic place to kayak or canoe.  I've seen great blue heron, ducks of many varieties, Canada geese and even two bald eagles.  It's easy to surprise beaver early in the morning as well as muskrat and oppossum.  I haven's spotted deer yet, but have heard them crashing off into the brush when I paddle too close to shore in the morning mists....

I went to this mountain with my school and it was a really fun expiernce and I am planning to go back with my school some time soon....... Fries as president and general manager to implement the necessary changes. Fries has an impressive resume with 35 years in the ski resort business including five years as owner and president of Bolton Valley, president of Stratton Mountain in Vermont, and president of Breckenridge in Colorado.
With Fries as the new president, Ragged Mountain applied to Audubon International to become a Certified Silver Signature Sanctuary. Audubon International only accepts applications for this level of certification when it can be involved before the construction of infrastructure has begun in order to provide critical input in the design phase, and guidance as the design takes the form of construction. Ragged Mountain has been accepted into the Signature Sanctuary program.
By the end of last season the resort was receiving numerous unsolicited positive testimonials about the new Ragged Mountain. Ragged Mountain's skier days increased substantially as people heard about the positive changes the resort had implemented. Opening day is anticipated to be November, 28. Keep an eye on
