Sure, Halfmoon Pond is close at hand. Greenwood Hill is scenic and can be spotted from Half Moon Pond; Super 8 Gardner is a glorious place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Contoocook River - North Branch for all you thrill seekers; a magnificent close by hotel is The Henniker Motel. Lots of folks from Keene come to Half Moon Pond,       and Dinsmore Pond is a perfect lake close by. What a place this is for outdoors people. The Pumpelly Trail is a good hiking trail next to Half Moon Pond; have a look at nearby West Peterborough Marsh. Half Moon Pond beyond doubt is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise. If the weather is great here at Half Moon Pond, you can go for a hike along the Parker Trail; an afternoon playing golf at Monadnock Country Club is always a pleasure. There's some                  flowing water close by, Brush Brook is a stream you can check out while here, and a great place to camp here at Half Moon Pond is Seven Maples Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Near Half Moon Pond you hit upon the Harling Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and a day on the slopes of Pats Peak is just what you need. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Half Moon Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and night lows at Half Moon Pond throughout the wintertime typically sink into the 0's. There are some great whitewater spots on Contoocook River. From a rain point of view Half Moon Pond is a quite common location; through August this area sees the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest.
