This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Stonehedge Inn & Spa, and you can take a little spree to Gumpas Pond Dam while you're here at Gumpas Pond. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Gumpas Pond highs are
generally in the 80's, and the nighttime is quite chillier of course, usually in the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Gumpas Pond during the wintertime regularly descend into the 0's.
Yeah, come here to Gumpas Pond for a brilliant time. The top of Chandler Hill is easily seen from Gumpas Pond, and Gumpas Pond is a pleasant site to visit for more than one day, Tyngsboro Campground is a pleasant site to camp nearby.
There is a good hiking trail in the neighborhood of Gumpas Pond called the Campground Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Concord River. Hit the slopes at McIntyre in the neighborhood, and why not take a little tour to Gumpas Pond Brook since you're here.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
