There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Naticook Lake Dam in the vicinity of Greens Pond, and what would winter be without some skiing at McIntyre. A perfect place for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Greens Pond is Piscataquog River. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Greens Pond has to offer, you can camp at Tyngsboro Campground. You're perhaps addicted to lakes, Naticook Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful.

| | There are fine spots to look at along the Mitchell Hill Road, and you'll possibly meet some people from Manchester-Nashua here. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Greens Pond. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Greens Pond. and a good close by hotel is Fairfield Inn Nashua Merrimack. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Merrimack River, and scenic scenery and splendid skiing is what you acquire at Pats Peak.

a perfect vista of Blodgett Hill; perhaps you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Duck Pond is just a very short distance away. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Merrimack is a perfect location to spend a night or two, and a
golf course nearby is Passaconaway Country Club. Stay the night at Tynsborough Campground, and Wildcat Falls is a delightful local attraction. Go for a hike on the Broken Boulder Smith Pond Trail, and why not go to a swamp like White Pine Swamp if you're here at Greens Pond.

Locust Pond
 | 1 PHOTO Locust Pond is a lake that was formed in 1954 by the creation of the Locust Pond Dam on Locust Brook, which flows from the Locust Pond to the larger Merrimack River. Locust Pond is considered a lake because Mass Regs (310 CMR 10.04) state that a lake is ?any open body of fresh water with a surface area of ten acres or more, and shall include great ponds. The site is bordered by Locust Avenue and light residential development to the northwest, and Route 3 to the southwest. The other half of the perimeter is bordered by dense development. The pond is mostly open water with no emergent marsh development. The upland is all forested. The habitat quality of this site is limited by the development surrounding it, however, it should provide at least transient habitat for aquatic mammals such as beaver, otter, and mink, and many of the upland mammals and migratory songbirds of forested habitats.... |
