If you are in Cheshire county it's always a good idea to stop by Goose Pond. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Ashuelot River offers some great whitewater, and camping is available at Surry Mountain Camp Ground. But wait, there's more to do close to Goose Pond. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Otter Brook, and there's a splendid forest called Beech Hill State Forest.
Through the summertime months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Goose Pond. Summer overnight lows drop down
to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Goose Pond are in the 0's. Goose Pond is a good place of typical precipitation; most of the rain falls all through August, and the driest of the months is February.
